Everlight

For a child whose grown-up is going away

Away and Home Again

A small light to hold while someone you love is far away, and home again.

A child in pajamas sits on a windowsill at dusk holding a glowing paper star, looking up at one bright star, an empty armchair behind them

A goodbye at the front door, a small star lantern to keep, nights of counting and drawing, and the porch light on the evening they come home.

What is inside

Eight illustrated spreads, written for one child. Eight pages of story, read aloud in about four minutes.

The six questions take about two minutes. Only the name and age are needed; the rest can be skipped.

If it isn't right, we write it again once, free — or you get a full refund.

Three spreads from another child’s book

Each book is drawn and written for one child alone, so this one will not be yours. Yours opens with your child’s name on the cover, and the Preview shows it before anything is paid.

A parent kneels at the front door and places a small glowing star lantern in a child's hands, a bag packed beside them
Look at the brightest star. I will be looking at it too.
A child draws by lamplight at the kitchen table, a calendar of crossed-off days on the wall and the star lantern glowing beside them
One more night crossed off. Brave some nights, sad on others, and both are allowed.
A child runs across a twilight lawn into the open arms of their returning parent, a bag dropped on the path and the porch light on
And then, one soft evening, the porch light and home again.
See it with your child’s name
